Release · 13 Oct 2026
Battlefield 6 has joined Xbox Game Pass and a Game of the Year Edition is on the way, developer Battlefield Studios confirmed on October 13, 2026. The same day brought the game’s Season 5 update.
Release date
Battlefield Studios launched Battlefield 6 into Game Pass on October 13, 2026, according to GameSpot. The game is now available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, priced at $23 per month, on PC and console, and it can also be streamed. The studio also released the Season 5 update and announced a Game of the Year Edition the same day.
What it is
Battlefield 6 is the latest entry in the long-running military shooter series. According to GameSpot, it was 2025’s best-selling game overall in the US and was released a year ago this month. GameSpot reports the game had a strong start but that player numbers have since dropped, and the studio is trying to reignite the fanbase through Game Pass and continued updates.
The Season 5 update adds new maps, including environments set in Las Vegas and Area 51, and introduces a proper server browser — a feature GameSpot says fans have requested since launch.
The Game of the Year Edition’s headline extra is the Ultimate Shortcut Kit, which instantly unlocks everything for all four classes, plus one season of Battlefield Pro and other digital perks. The Ultimate Shortcut Kit is also sold on its own for $30.
Where to get it
Battlefield 6 is available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on PC and console, or by streaming for subscribers. The Game of the Year Edition and the standalone $30 Ultimate Shortcut Kit are sold separately. Pricing beyond Game Pass and the standalone kit was not specified in the report.
